My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxHi there, Esme's foster mom here... From the moment I laid eyes on her, I fell in love. She is so sweet and snuggly. Our normal daily routine - she sleeps in bed with me however she does fine in a crate (after about 10 minutes of grumbling). She typically sleeps until I do, however there are sometimes I wake up to some gentle puppy kisses if she really needs to go outside. She is a playful pittie pup, loves to play tug of war, anything she can chew on and sometimes good ole playing fetch. We try to get a couple good playtime sessions per day.   She is housetrained, however figuring out her bathroom schedule has been challenging. She's very particular as to where she goes. I've gotten in the habit of letting her out every 2-3 hours, just in the yard to do her business (on a tie out, we do not have a fenced in yard). We also get in a good 30-45 minute walk per day. I've let her off leash in a controlled area and she did very well, did not take off and always made sure she could see me.    Esme LOVES to be near her humans. Always snuggling, taking naps in odd positions and all the cute things you love with pittie puppies. She's been good with other people, children and dogs. She's only been around one cat, and the cat ran and hid, however with her gentle nature, I assume she will do well. Now, she IS a 10 month old pup, so needless to say she can be mischievous, however she takes direction/correction very well. Its mostly what is okay to chew on and what is not. However I wanted to note, the only 'human' thing she has chewed on is shoes/slippers, she does not munch on furniture or any decor.    Esme would be a great addition to any family, great with kids and very playful, or with another furry friend, she's a great all around pup. Anywhere I've taken her, everyone falls in love.      If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks.       Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Esme, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
