My story

Kenzie is a beautiful 7-year-old German Shepherd mix with a tender soul and a heart full of quiet love to give. She's a sensitive and nervous girl who takes her time building trust with new people—but once you’re in her circle, you’re in for life. When she's feeling unsure, Kenzie has the sweetest anxious "appeasement smile," her gentle way of saying, "I come in peace!" Kenzie would thrive in a calm, low traffic patient home that understands her need for a slower pace and gentle encouragement. Kenzie is especially fearful of men, of all ages, so may require slower introductions and prolonged management and training work if expected to co-exist with men. When it comes to children, she would be best suited with older dog savvy girls that understand her fearful and anxious nature. Despite her anxious nature, Kenzie still has a playful side! She enjoys a relaxed game of fetch and absolutely loves splashing in her kiddie pool on warm days. Kenzie is currently on a weight loss journey and doing great, but she’s looking for a forever home with someone who can help her stay on track with healthy meals and regular walks or playtime.
