My story

Meet Ace Ventura, a 2-year-old explorer with a heart as big as his smile! This sweet, potty-trained boy recently lost his family, but he’s ready to find a new one that will give him the love and patience he deserves. Ace knows his manners—Sit, Stay, and Shake are already in his repertoire—and he was even trusted to free roam in his previous home when left alone. He’s playful, toy-loving, and absolutely adores a good exploration walk, especially when it involves sticking his whole head in a bush for maximum sniffing potential. (It`s kind of his thing.)On his Dog Day Out, Ace started off a little shy, but it didn’t take long before he was hopping into the car like a pro and enjoying some chicken nuggets, butt scratches, and lots of treats. He’s the type of pup who may take a moment to warm up—but once he does, he’s all in. He also walks well on leash, only pulling a bit when excited, and calms down quickly.Ace attends playgroups at the shelter and has previously lived with cats and kids, though we think he’d do best in a home with older children who understand doggy boundaries. He may also appreciate being fed in his own quiet space, just to help him feel secure. With his lovable personality, adorable smile, and gentle heart, Ace Ventura is ready to bring some serious joy and adventure to his forever home. We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
