My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, May 3rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $700 Meet Retro – Your Vintage-Inspired, Modern-Day Lovebug 10–12 months old | 11 lbs | Morkie (Yorkie + Maltese Mix) Some dogs are cool. Some are cute. Some are cuddly. And then there's Retro—a pint-sized heartthrob who somehow manages to be all three, with a side of charming mischief and a twinkle in his golden eyes. At just around a year old and 11 pounds of fluffy adorableness, Retro is the kind of pup who could’ve been a 1950s movie star if he weren’t so busy stealing socks and hearts. He’s got the sweet soul of a gentleman, the curiosity of a toddler, and just enough sass to keep things interesting. Retro’s Day-in-the-Life: He starts his morning with a quick potty break (yes, he’s house-trained!), breakfast with his preferred “topper” thank-you-very-much, and then alternates between sunbathing, snoozing, and charming everyone in sight. Around noon, he heads out for a walk or adventure—and though the leash isn’t exactly his favorite accessory yet, he’s getting the hang of it like the polite little prince he is. By evening, it’s all snuggles and couch cuddles. He’s been sleeping in bed with his foster and is so quiet and still, you’d never know he was there... until he’s gently nosing your hand for one more scratch. Why You'll Love Retro: He gets along with everyone: men, women, kids, cats, dogs—you name it. He’s playful and gentle, with just a pinch of silly. He rarely barks, doesn’t dig or chew destructively, and is practically perfect in every way. He might relocate your socks. For sport. His foster says: “I wish I could keep him.” Retro is affectionate without being clingy, playful without being hyper, and always, always ready to love. He’s a low-drama, high-snuggle sweetheart who just wants to be your little sidekick, whether you’re working from home, hanging with friends, or simply watching Netflix on the couch.
