My story

Meet Little Emmy! She arrived in Colorado after sitting at a kill shelter in Texas for three months. She was saved on her final day. Her past is that she came from a hoarder and she and 10+ other dogs all ended up at the shelter together. Due to this history, she came to us very shut down and is learning how to be a dog. She would benefit from living with other dogs to help her come out of her shell. So far she loves the three dogs in her foster home, following them around and snuggling them. She still does not want to be approached by humans. She will be with her foster for a few weeks working on trusting humans, leash training, house training, crate training and confidence building before she will be ready for adoption but we are taking interest now. Emmy is potty trained and goes reliably in the yard. Emmy will need a very calm environment with no children and at least one other dog in the home to thrive once she is adopted. She needs a very patient adopter who will give her time and space to feel safe.
