Meet Mack, a sweet and sensitive 1-year-old pup weighing about 35 pounds. Mack is dog-friendly and does best with slow introductions—he may be timid at first and wouldn’t appreciate meeting resident dogs right away. Once comfortable, he thrives with other dogs and truly blossoms in a home with canine companions. He currently lives with a 30 lb male dog and two females weighing 45 and 68 lbs, showing that he isn’t intimidated by larger dogs. In fact, Mack looks to other dogs for guidance on how to `dog.`Crate-trained and comforted by having a space of his own, Mack finds security in his crate and prefers to rest or eat there. He’s also a bit of a “silent chewer,” so it’s best not to leave him out unattended—especially if you value your socks! He isn’t destructive with toys and loves his benebones, but be mindful of random chewing habits. Mack eats in his crate and may growl if another dog approaches while he’s eating, but he’s comfortable with humans picking up his bowl while eating. This gentle boy is still learning to feel safe. Loud noises like blenders and vacuums are scary for him—he may try to bite at the vacuum, so crating him during those times is a must. Mack is playful but overall has a low-energy vibe and enjoys lounging or rolling in the grass. Mack will follow you around once trust is established, leaning into you for comfort. It’s clear someone in his past wasn’t kind to him, raised voices scare him—so he needs a patient, gentle home where he can continue to build confidence. He already knows “sit” and “no,” and responds to the name Mack, which he was given at the shelter.Mack isn’t fully potty trained just yet, but he understands the concept and just needs consistency—taking him out every 2–3 hours has helped avoid accidents. Mack is getting better with bath time and he loves car rides and happily rides shotgun. Leash walking is still a skill he’s yet to learn, as his foster home has a backyard—but he absolutely adores being pushed around in a wagon!Despite his rough start, this little guy is ready to thrive with someone who sees his potential. If you`re looking for a gentle soul with puppy charm and big love to give, Mack might just be your perfect match.
