My story

Cleo’s an absolute queen who will steal your heart! Hello, loyal subjects. Just kidding! I'm Cleo, a 4-year-old, 42-pound terrier mix. While my name might sound like Egyptian queen, I’m as down-to-earth as they come. My idea of royalty is simple: long walks, sunbathing on a soft bed, playing fetch, and being near the people I love most. I grew up in a loving home in San Diego with a wonderful family that included a toddler and a newborn. They adored me, but when life got too busy, they made the heartbreaking decision to find a new home where I could get the attention and affection that I deserve. I’ve been well cared for all my life—spayed, vaccinated, healthy, and up-to-date on everything. I’m ready for my next chapter with a family who can treasure me like the queen I am. I’m a playful, affectionate, and intelligent girl with a heart as big as the Nile. I love children, especially older ones who can keep up with my happy, bouncy energy. I get along well with dogs after a proper, slow introduction and, while I haven’t lived with cats, I usually ignore them on walks. There’s a good chance I could live peacefully with a feline roommate given the right introduction. Although I have plenty of energy for fetch and outdoor adventures, I’m just as happy lounging in the sun or curling up near your feet. I know all my commands like "sit," "lie down," "wait," and even "mano" (paw)! I’m fully house-trained, crate-trained, polite around food, and very used to life in an apartment or a house. Bath time and paw wiping? No problem! This queen loves being pampered. One thing to know: being left alone for long stretches is tough for me. I have separation anxiety and feel safest when my people are nearby. I’m looking for a home where someone is around most of the time or where I can spend time at doggy daycare. I don’t need a castle, but I do need a family that sees me as a true companion, not just a pet. My ideal home would have someone who works from home, is semi-retired, or just loves having a loyal, playful sidekick nearby. A family with older kids would be pawfect. A house with a yard would be wonderful, but I’m just as happy in an apartment as long as we go on daily walks and play together. If you’re looking for a best friend who will greet you like royalty every morning, make you laugh with her silly antics, and offer a lifetime of loyalty and love, I’m your girl! Let’s write our love story together—every queen deserves her fairytale ending. My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##1080615##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cleo 2, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
