Name: Daisy Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 10 months old (as of 6/27/25) Best Guess for Breed: Pointer/Terrier Mix Weight: About 45 lbs (as of 6/27/25) Lives With: Dogs, cats and people! Housebroken? Yes, she’s housebroken! Story: Daisy was originally rescued from a shelter in North Carolina when she was a young puppy and adopted out through our rescue. Her adopter is very sick and no longer able to take care of her, so she’s now looking for a new furever home. Daisy is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Daisy is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Daisy will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Daisy is a fantastic dog that loves to play and cuddle up to her human. She's a bit shy at first, but also very curious and opens up quickly. At home, she's very quiet and can keep herself entertained for long periods of time. She's house trained and crate trained. Outside, Daisy's personality really comes alive. She likes to run and jump and roll around in the grass. She does this thing during walks where she looks back at you, tongue wagging, and it looks like she's smiling at you. It's the cutest thing. Daisy LOVES other dogs and plays very well with dogs of all sizes. During walks, she will tug to get to other dogs and it's something her adopter will need to continue to work on with her. However, there's no aggression at all - she just wants to play. We pass many cats on our walks and she's never showed any aggression towards them, only curiosity. Daisy would do great in a calm home, either with a backyard or an active adopter who will get her outside a few times a day. Another dog is a plus but she also does very well on her own. She’s a really good girl! The fee to adopt Daisy is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. If you think that Daisy might be your perfect match, apply today! August 12, 2025, 9:07 pm
