Billy Idol

My story

Meet Billy Idol (Ares)! He is an 11 month old to one year old, pit (believed to be a pure bred pit, based upon DNA of his litter. Originally, Billy Idol and his litter were found abandoned in a tote, very malnourished, neglected and in desperate need of care when we pulled him into foster. But they bounced back like rock stars and found homes, except Billy Idol has been returned and is still looking for his happily fur-ever. Billy Idol could benefit from some formal training to help him navigate through some fear. He doesn't like new things - if your bring a strange box in a home, he barks and is afraid of it. It makes him uncomfortable. If you have friends over, once he meets them, if they move or make sudden movements, he barks and becomes scared. One may state, if he were human, that the unknowns of life cause him fear anxiety. He will warm up to a woman before he warms up to a man in meeting people. He could benefit from someone who understands the breed and has experience with dogs who may have suffered some trauma in their past life and have the patience to work with him to become a very confident dog that can work past and control his fears. A strong, experienced and confident dog owner are usually best for dogs like him. When he feels safe, he won't need to be on guard. A dog owner that can assure him 'I got this. You can relax buddy' would really help this guy!  He is house and crate trained. He does currently live with another dog but due to the fear of the unknown, it may take him awhile to warm up. As he adjusts into a home, a calm one with not a lot of human traffic (would benefit him - so If you have kids in and out of the home - Billy Idol will not do well due to his fear anxiety). Yes, we are looking for the perfect home but this boy deserves it!  ##2146941##
