Meet TEDDY! Teddy is an 11 week old, 15 pound male puppy. (as of April 26th, 2025) Teddy was named after a Teddy Bear because he is so cuddly and sweet like a favorite stuffy! Teddy is a happy-go-lucky puppy whose favorite things are to play with his toys and chew sticks, initiate a game of tug-of-war, and play with the other dogs in his foster's home! While Teddy loves human and dog engagement, he can also be independent and is perfectly happy nibbling on his chew stick on his bed. He loves a good belly rub especially after he’s played and gotten all his puppy energy out. He loves being picked up, carried, cuddled and kissed. He loves attention! Teddy is great with the other dogs of all sizes and ages. He is also appropriately deferential to the adult dogs in the home and takes cues and redirection well (both from dogs and humans). Teddy is very smart. He will often go independently into his crate for a nap. He sleeps soundlessly through the night in his crate. He also is getting the hang of potty/crate training and will pee on a wee wee pad or outside. Teddy would be great with a family with active children or in a generally active home! Teddy would be happy with other dogs in the home too but would also thrive as a solo pup, as long as he's able to get the exercise and playtime he needs. Teddy is young and would be great with cats with a proper introduction. For reference, his mom is about 30-35 lbs and appears visually to be a lab/golden retriever mix. Please note that Teddy is a sato from Puerto Rico, which means he's a mix of many breeds. Waggytail cannot guarantee the full grown size or exact breed of any of our puppies. Teddy is up to date on age appropriate vaccines. He is up to date on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Teddy is scheduled for his neuter, DHPP & Lepto Booster, microchip implantation, and rabies vaccine on Thursday, May 22 at Flatbush Veterinary Clinic (Flatbush, Brooklyn). Should he be adopted before then, his adopters will be responsible for bringing him to and from this appointment. Waggytail Rescue will cover the cost of this neuter appointment but any other vet appointments will be the adopters responsibility. To apply, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2371718##
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Teddy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
