My story

Meet Blossom! Blossom and her sister Buttercup were surrendered to Baldwin Park Shelter in neglected condition: very thin with irritated skin from being underneath matted, flea-infested coats. The shelter reached out for a safe exit for these frail girls, and we made them Frosted Faces on April 26th. Despite all that Blossom and Buttercup have been through, they are so sweet, trusting, and happily accepting of pets. They are deeply bonded and curl up together to snuggle and sleep. We are looking for a special family who will adopt them as a pair, so they can spend the rest of their lives together. Might that be you? Blossom and Buttercup went on a two-week Frosted Fling and thrived in a home environment where they received much needed love and care. They are gaining weight and starting to get furry and soft! Their Fling Mom reports: "Buttercup is the quieter more dainty sister. Her favorite thing to do is eat and curl up on your lap. When she is curious she holds up her little front paw! When she is uncertain, she shakes a bit. I have only heard her bark once when I wasn't quick enough with her food. Blossom is the protective sister. She watches for her sister at all times and will bathe her or soothe her if she is worried. Blossom will curl up wherever her sister is. Blossom has more weight on her and thus a little more energy. Here is what else we learned: 🌻potty trained - they have access to an outside yard and we have only had 1 accident in the house(our fault) . They pee/poo synchronized so they do their business together. 🌻they eat canned wet food. Right now we feed them 3 meals a day with some cottage cheese in between to slowly get them some weight 🌻sleep through night in their own area. No crates- they don't love being locked up. They do whine a little bit at first but quiet down quickly. They would probably love to sleep in bed with you. 🌻no separation anxiety. If you are around they will be right with you or on your lap but if you leave they will just sleep in their beds. (we’ve left them for 5-6 hours without any problem) 🌻they walk on leashes pretty well - they walk so close together they tangle themselves up. 🌻super bonded they do everything together - eat, sleep, walk, and curl up next to each other. 🌻climb stairs to get on couch 🌻don’t love baths but will tolerate them, easy to groom, brush and clean eyes 🌻they don’t play favorites and love everyone in house 🌻easily picked up 🌻like to sunbathe 🌻love the couch 🌻love to be on your lap 🌻easy dogs!! 🌻they will give you so much love! "I know it seems like a bonded pair is a lot of work but these girls are literally one dog! Blossom and Buttercup really deserve the best. They are magical!" Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet these precious sisters.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Blossom, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
