My story

James is an 18-pound mini tan poodle, born in April 2023, with a soft coat, soulful eyes, and a heart full of potential. Though a bit shy at first, James is a thoughtful, observant pup who takes in the world around him with quiet curiosity. With a little patience and a lot of love, he’s already showing just how much he wants to connect. James came from a puppy mill, and life in a home is still new to him—but he’s making incredible progress every day. He’s formed a sweet bond with his female caretaker, a touching sign of his growing trust and capacity for love. His social confidence is blooming, too—James now gets along well with dogs of all sizes and genders, and nothing makes him happier than playing with his canine friends. These joyful moments aren’t just fun for James—they’re helping him heal. He’s pee pad trained and working on his potty training, showing a willingness to learn and adapt. James would thrive in a calm, patient home with teens or adults (young kids may be too much for his sensitive nature) and would absolutely flourish with a friendly dog companion to show him the ropes and share in his journey.
