My story

Penny is a friendly, gentle, athletic 3-year-old girl! We believe she is an Australian Shepherd not only because of her looks but also because she is very smart and easily trainable. She is a sweet, affectionate, and goofy little pup who is always ready for a walk. She will be your best friend in no time! She is great with other dogs, and very playful with them, so she could easily join a household with another dog or be a single dog. She is a shy dog so her adopter needs to be willing to work on her confidence through training classes, proper socialization and lots of treats! Another dog would also be great to help her gain confidence naturally. Penny’s previous owner lost his job and home, so he was no longer able to take care of his dogs and brought them to the shelter with tears in his eyes. We promised him that we would do everything to find her a loving home! She has a chance to come to New York in May, so we are looking for an adopter or foster or foster-to-adopt who would open their heart to this beautiful girl. Her potty training has begun and is in progress. Crate training and routine will assist greatly with this. Penny is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for heart worm, currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention, and dewormed. Ready to open your heart to Penny? Please, fill out our adoption application (easily found on sosanimalwelfare.org) and email it to sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com. We’ll happily get back to you.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Penny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
