My story

Meet Kaia, a loving and affectionate 1.5-year-old pittie mix who’s looking for a calm and committed family to call her own! Kaia is a sweetheart who absolutely loves attention, cuddles, and being close to her people. She's grown up with young children and cats, and she’s incredibly gentle, cuddly, and kind. Kaia has no signs of aggression or resource guarding, and she's fully crate-trained. She knows how to sit, lie down, stay, and will even return to her crate when asked. Kaia is also quiet and calm in the home — she doesn't bark and isn't phased by strange noises, making her great for apartment or condo living. She is high-energy and would thrive with an active family who enjoys walks, playtime, and giving her space to run. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals — she loves "playing vet" with them! 💡 Things to Know About Kaia: • Kaia has on-leash reactivity, especially around other dogs, but she’s currently working on this with positive reinforcement training. • She can live with another dog, but it needs to be a well-socialized, calm, and submissive companion, as Kaia tends to feed off the energy around her. • She walks well on leash with minimal pulling but may need continued structure and support in stimulating environments. • She’s treat-motivated and a quick learner — she would love to keep training with her forever family! 🏡 Ideal Home: Kaia would do best in a quieter home with fewer pets or young children, though she’s proven to be gentle and affectionate with both. A fenced yard would be a big plus, but it’s not a must if she gets enough outdoor time and stimulation. 💖 Kaia is truly a lovable, loyal girl with so much joy to offer. Kaia is vaccinated, microchipped, has her flea, tick & heartworm prevention and sterilized. She will come with her medical booklet. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months. We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things. Kaia est une adorable petite chienne qui adore l'attention, les câlins et la proximité avec ses maîtres. Ayant grandi avec de jeunes enfants et des chats, elle est incroyablement douce, câline et gentille. Kaia ne montre aucun signe d'agressivité ni de besoin de protection, et elle est parfaitement habituée à la cage. Elle sait s'asseoir, se coucher, rester immobile et retournera même dans sa cage si on le lui demande. Kaia est également calme et sereine à la maison : elle n'aboie pas et ne se laisse pas perturber par les bruits étranges, ce qui la rend idéale pour la vie en appartement. Débordante d'énergie, elle s'épanouira dans une famille active qui aime les promenades, les jeux et lui laisser de l'espace pour courir. Ses jouets préférés sont les peluches ; elle adore jouer au vétérinaire avec elles ! 💡 À savoir sur Kaia : • Kaia est réactive en laisse, surtout avec les autres chiens, mais elle travaille actuellement sur ce point grâce à un dressage par renforcement positif. • Elle peut vivre avec un autre chien, mais il doit s'agir d'un compagnon bien socialisé, calme et soumis, car Kaia a tendance à se nourrir de l'énergie qui l'entoure. • Elle marche bien en laisse en tirant le moins possible, mais peut avoir besoin d'encadrement et de soutien continus dans des environnements stimulants. • Elle est motivée par les friandises et apprend vite ; elle adorerait continuer à s'entraîner avec sa famille pour la vie ! 🏡 Maison idéale : Kaia s'épanouirait mieux dans une maison plus calme avec moins d'animaux ou de jeunes enfants, même si elle s'est montrée douce et affectueuse avec les deux. Un jardin clôturé serait un atout majeur, mais ce n'est pas indispensable si elle passe suffisamment de temps à l'extérieur et est stimulée. 💖 Kaia est vraiment une chienne adorable et fidèle qui a beaucoup de joie à offrir. Elle recherche une famille qui l'aidera à grandir et à se sentir en sécurité. Si vous pensez être la personne qu'il lui faut, nous serions ravis de vous présenter ! Kaia est vaccinée micropucée, traitée contre les puces, les tiques et les puces, stérilisée et viendra avec son carnet médical. Parfois, un chien/ne met un peu plus de temps à s'ouvrir à nous. Vous le/la verrez peut-être révéler sa personnalité de plus en plus au fil des premiers jours, semaines, voire mois. Nous ne connaissons pas tout ce qu'il/elle a traversé avant d'être secouru, mais il/elle est tellement indulgent/e et plein d'amour que chaque moment difficile en vaut la peine. Développer une relation de confiance avec votre chien/ne secouru est essentiel. La stabilité, la patience, le renforcement positif et l'amour sont les valeurs les plus importantes.
