My story

Hi, I'm Clementine. Here is some info you need to know about me:    Age: 9 months  Gender: Female  Breed: Golden Retriever Mix  Weight: 18 kg  Height: 50 cm  Highlights: playful, curious, cuddly, loyal, engaging People say I’m a brave little pup—and I guess they’re right. I’ve been through more than most dogs my age. I was born in a city in the Middle East where life was really hard. I lost my ears and tail, and sometimes I still get scared around men or when I see long sticks or poles. But even with all that, I’m still full of love, hope, and tail wags (well… if I still had a tail, it would be wagging nonstop!).  I love being around people—especially kids—and I get along great with other dogs. I haven’t met any cats yet, but when I see them in the streets, I tend to chase them. Would be best if I go to a home without kitties.. I’m playful, curious, and I absolutely love going for walks. I’m really good on a leash!  I’m also super adaptable. I don’t mind where I sleep, as long as I know I’m safe. I can be a little nervous sometimes, but with gentle love and patience, I open up quickly. I’m really just looking for someone who sees the good in me and wants to help me feel safe and happy forever.  Right now, I’m dreaming of a home in Vancouver, where I can run, play, cuddle, and finally just be a dog—without fear. I promise to be your loyal, loving friend through it all.  Will you be my forever person?  I’m ready when you are. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.
