My story

How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a community member. Why this pet is the one for you:Martin is a sweet, sensitive dog who is learning that the world can be a safe place. While he may not be the kind of pup who bounds up to new people right away, his quiet loyalty and gentle spirit make him a truly rewarding companion for someone willing to go at his pace. Martin will need continued support as he adjusts to a new home. Change can be overwhelming for him, and adopters should be prepared for a slow transition. It's important to offer him safe, quiet spaces where he can choose to rest or observe at a distance helps build his confidence. Adjustment periods can vary greatly from dog to dog. For Martin, it may take several weeks-or even months-for his full personality to emerge. During this time, it's essential to allow him to move at his own speed. Martin thrives with gentle routines, clear communication, and low-pressure opportunities to explore his environment. Martin is looking for a calm, patient home with someone who understands that love sometimes grows quietly, over time. If you're someone who values the deep connection that comes from earning a dog's trust, Martin may be the one for you! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!AT BEHAVIOR CENTER: This animal is receiving a little extra support from specialized Caregivers and an assigned Trainer. To begin the adoption process and trainer-facilitated interaction, please reach out to us directly at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number. Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Weight: 77.9 Age: 3yrs 1mths 3wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Martin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
