My story

Meet Fira! This beautiful, sensitive girl came to us all the way from Puerto Rico, where many dogs grow up in unpredictable and often overwhelming environments. Despite her past, Fira is incredibly sweet and affectionate, with a gentle, loving personality that truly shines as she bonds with her people. She has a heart full of love and is eager to share it with a family who will appreciate her calm and tender nature. Fira absolutely loves to play, and once she feels comfortable and safe, she’ll happily zoom around or engage in gentle games with her favorite toys. Her playful spirit is balanced by a strong desire to cuddle and be close to those she trusts — she’s truly a devoted snuggle buddy who will lean in for affection and soak up all the love you have to give. She does very well with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a calm, confident canine companion who can help her build even more confidence and provide a sense of security. While Fira is naturally sensitive, we believe she would be good with kids, especially in a calm and patient household where children understand how to give her space and treat her gently. Her ideal home is one that offers a quiet, stable environment, where her adopters are willing to move at her pace, giving her plenty of time to decompress and adjust to new experiences. Fira is still learning to navigate the world around her, so she will benefit greatly from consistent, gentle training and positive reinforcement.
