My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Killian Wyatt (but his fosters call him Beau!) Age: approximately 2.5yrs Special Needs: Blind (Microphthalmia) Beau is a one-of-a-kind pup with a heart as big as his name. Born with Microphthalmia, a condition that affected the development of his eyes, Beau eventually needed to have them removed due to chronic infections and discomfort. But don’t let his blindness fool you—this boy is full of life, spirit, and surprising amounts of sass. Now healed and adjusting well, Beau is looking for a forever home that will help him continue to navigate the world with patience and love. Because his world is always dark, new places and faces can be scary. But once he feels safe, his vibrant personality starts to shine. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and a perfect gentleman on the leash—no pulling. Walks can be cautious at first, but once he learns the route, his confidence grows with each step. Beau is an intelligent, eager-to-learn boy who thrives on routine, positive reinforcement, and yummy treats. In his foster home, he’s already mastered “sit,” “get in your house” (crate), “feet on the floor,” and even backyard fetch. Yep—fetch! Blindness hasn’t slowed him down one bit. He’s currently working on “leave it” and enjoys mental stimulation like puzzles and snuffle mats. He’s still learning how to trust people and can be hesitant when meeting new ones, but with gentle guidance and patience, his loyalty and affection blossom. Beau would do best in a calm home with another respectful, low-energy dog to show him the ropes and keep him company—he truly enjoys the companionship and playtime. He is currently enrolled in training to help him boost his confidence and he would benefit from a family willing to continue his training. Beau’s not just special because he’s blind—he’s special because he’s Beau: sweet, smart, resilient, and full of life. He’s looking for a person or family who will be his advocate, his cheerleader, and his guide. If you’re ready to welcome an extraordinary soul into your life, Beau’s waiting to meet you. The adoption donation is $210 and will include neuter, microchip and vaccines.  Please follow the link below to submit an application:  https://bit.ly/3GDeyyo  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2025, 5:17 pm
