Earl Gray

My story

The gorgeous Earl Gray is doing so well 🩶 His ear wound has almost healed! All the stitches from his second surgery popped out within two days just like after the first surgery. He was on strong antibiotics for ten days after that and has been healing slowly since. Earl is fiv positive and in a normal home setting this is not a big deal. In Earl’s case, he was being kept in a closet at a shelter and being used to “cat test” the dogs (very stressful!). He had a horrible ear infection and an open wound on the back of his ear that was never treated and open to all the germs in the facility (which has since been condemned). If Earl had received prompt medical attention, his ear infection would have never gotten to that point. He wouldn’t have scratched a hole behind his ear from the pain. FIV weakens the immune system so he needs a person/family who will make sure he gets vet care if/when needed. Honestly, this applies to all animals! Earl is estimated to be 6 years old and is a very loving big boy! He will climb on your lap and lets you hold him like a baby. He is kind to other cats and not bothered by cat friendly dogs 🩶
