My story

Have you fully accepted your role as servant to your furry masters? Can you tolerate all classes of antibiotics? Are you passively suicidal? Then we have the cat for you! Brunhilda came to us starving, sick, and with a well deserved reputation of violence. This momager of four super sick kittens terrorized her foster home with her overprotective instincts for three months. Requiring a complicated triple barricaded system of doors and gates, as well as water buckets in every room to prevent and stop any fights, it was obvious that Brunhilda had seen some $h!t. Attacking any cat, towel, shoe, or door that looked at her babies the wrong way, she told us she was serious about making sure her little family survived. Unfortunately, one of her little Valkyries did not make it, but the other three are thriving and adopted! Now it is Brunihilda’s turn. Don’t let her cuteness fool you. Brunhilda’s not so secret life goal is to take over the world- starting with your home. She knows how to open doors (and shut them behind her so other cats cannot follow her), unbolt locks, and has proved that child proofed is not Brunihilda proofed. Bruni is afraid of thunderstorms and demands to lay stretched out against your back. She does not give a flying f*ck if you aren’t a side sleeper, you are now. Need to stretch? Her well placed claws will remind you of your only purpose until the storm ends. Like music? Good! Soft, dulcet tunes sooth Brunhilda’s drive to destroy all life on the planet, but forget about loud raucous songs or tv unless you live within walking distance of urgent care and have a standing prescription for clindamyocin. Do you have another cat? Get pet insurance, because Bruni believes furry roommates should be neither seen nor heard without her express permission. They better not take her toys or your neighbors will be calling the police for a domestic disturbance. Play time with her furry subordinates will occur on her terms, whether they like it or not. Brunhilda likes to play but her furry foster family is still recovering from their attack mama PTSD. So if Brunhilda sounds like your kind of cat (we are sorry you are feeling so depressed, have you tried an antidepressant?) fill out an application and come visit her foster home in Logan Square (after filling out a safety waiver of course). You won’t find Brunhilda at any adoption events because we are not stupid. You will be awed by her fluffy softness, adorable quirky smile, and funny little hop when she zooms. Most importantly: You. Will. Pet. Her. *Not recommended for homes with children, dogs, easy access to sharp knives or power tools, or for adults with a strong will to live.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Brunhilda, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
