My story

This is Cheesecake, a 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel and weighs 20 lbs. He came to PK after being rescued from a hoarding situation along with his siblings. Cheesecake has spent the last couple of weeks absolutely petrified at the shelter. In recent days, he’s started to come out of his shell, but he will still need patience. He has not been properly socialized, so he is extremely scared of people. No aggression, just fear. Deep down, we know that he is a sweet, playful puppy who is longing to know love and affection from humans. He is accustomed to being around other dogs and can be kitty-tested. Due to his fearfulness, he would probably be best in a home without young children. He will also be a flight risk initially, so a secure home is imperative (always secure outside, never off leash, no open doors or fence gates, etc.).
