My story

Junior and his mom, Jaymie, were heartbreakingly left behind when their family moved out 9/24. When they were found, both were covered in fleas and dangerously overweight. Jaymie had already been through a lot—having had two litters—and now she and Junior were on their own. They were passed between different homes by kind-hearted people trying to keep them together, but no one was able to commit to adopting both. After months of trying everything, their rescuers reached out to Shelter Hope, hoping for a second chance. Since then, Junior and Jaymie have begun to thrive. They’re slowly shedding the extra weight and with it, their playful spirits are starting to shine through again. They’re both house-trained and will let you know when they need to go out, usually every 2–4 hours, and they’ll use pee pads at night. They’re gentle, sweet dogs. Great with people, other dogs, and kids. But they will chase cats. Most of all, they’re just two dogs who have been through a lot, finally starting to feel safe, and hoping their forever family is out there. Be ready to adopt. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation.
