My story

Cider is a gentle, wise old soul wrapped in a soft coat of brown fur. Her hound mix heritage shows in her long ears, soulful eyes, and that distinctive, melodious bay she lets out when she's especially excited—or when dinner’s a little late. Age has slowed her steps but not her spirit; she still ambles eagerly toward every new scent on the wind, nose to the ground like she’s following an invisible story. She carries herself with a calm dignity, her gait slightly stiff but determined. Her coat is a mix of deep amber and faded cream, like autumn leaves brushed with a little frost. There’s a peaceful warmth about her, the kind that makes you want to sit beside her on the porch in the golden hour light, maybe sharing a quiet moment and a few head scratches. Cider’s not one for chaos or too much excitement anymore—she prefers the comforts of a cozy bed, a sunny patch by the window, and the reassuring presence of her favorite humans. But every once in a while, you’ll catch a glimpse of her younger self: a tail wagging like crazy, a goofy play-bow, or a sudden burst of energy as she chases a squirrel halfway across the yard—then remembers halfway through that she’s not quite as spry as she used to be. She’s loyal to the core, patient, and full of love—like a warm cup of cider on a chilly day.
