What my friends at ACC say about me:Flare is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, he tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people, we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.A volunteer writes: Flare may look a little doleful, kind of like he's just waiting for things to happen to him, but I think that's mostly when we happen to be watching. Flare has lovingly created a very full life for himself within the confines of his condo and though he hasn't felt much like talking to me about it, he graciously allows me to admire him from afar. Flare was brought to us with many other cats after they were found abandoned in a building. I think the surprise of being at the Care Center led him to be a little more open to pets from us at first, but with me he spent our visit trying to return to the world he's built and understandably so. Flare makes beautiful nests out of his boxes and blankets, decorating his life just so and doing his best to take initiative when it comes to sharing his heart. Primary Color: Black Weight: 7.7 Age: 7yrs 1mths 2wks
