My story

Meet Clyde! He is a Husky Mix who is 4 years old and was E-Listed at MCACC for his medical needs. Clyde has mobility issues (suspected hip dysplasia) in both hind limbs, and at intake he also had a soft tissue injury in his front right leg. He was in a ton of pain! He was incredibly sweet when we met him in the shelter, and it was clear that his pain was getting in the way of how much love he had to give. Luckily, a medically experienced foster was able to open their home to Clyde where he could have his own safe space. Since his intake, Clyde saw an orthopedic specialist and they do not think he needs surgery at this time – his pain is managed and he is doing well! Clyde took a few days to warm up in his foster home, but with enough treats and quality time, he made a new best friend. He has medium energy and is always up for a walk—he has great leash manners! Clyde is very playful and especially enjoys play time with his toys. He has had some instances of resource guarding, but he does respond well to correction and redirection. While he is not a fan of booty or belly scratches, Clyde will take every opportunity to hold paws with you! He is full of sass, talks back and grumbles to let you know when he is upset. Clyde is very vocal – just like we would expect for a Husky! Clyde could do well both as an only dog or with other dogs in the home. He is playful with the other dogs in his foster home (both small and large), but also enjoys his space. He currently lives with a cat, however he is not the biggest fan and has a prey drive. We would not recommend a home with cats. Since Clyde can get a little grumbly because of his pain, older children are also recommended (13+). Overall, Clyde would prefer a calm and relaxed home. Clyde still needs dedicated time to be socialized and learn obedience skills, but that doesn’t overshadow the amazing progress he has made in those areas since being out of the shelter! If you think this sweetheart has a place in your home, fill out an application to meet Clyde today! https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Clyde, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
