My story

Meet Ali! This handsome guy had been hanging around a home in the Spencer area for about a month, and then disappeared for a week. When he returned, he had some pretty nasty wounds and needed medical attention. He was brought to CCHS, where our medical team quickly sprang into action to try and save his life. Honestly, they were some of the nastiest wounds our vet team had ever seen. We aren't exactly sure what happened to Ali, and he's not talking. But we suspect he was almost a victim of an eagle or other large bird of prey. His neck was ripped open and he had talen scrape marks on the back of his head. But this guy is a fighter! That's why he was named after Muhammed Ali! He came through the emergency surgery like a champ, and healed up wonderfully like the winner he is. He's a super sweet boy and is quite the handsome Gray Tabby. He still has some fur to grow back, but he's looking better every day. Unfortunately, he did test positive for Feline Leukemia, probably as a results of his outdoor adventures. That means he will have to be the only kitty in his future home, or live with other cats that are also FeLV positive. Ali is a little over a year old and weighs 7.3#. If you have the perfect spot for a special boy like Ali, please apply to adopt him today! You can go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Thank you!Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $40. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All cats and kittens have been vaccinated for Distemper, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will also be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for FeLV/FIV. Cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered before adoption.CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ali, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
