My story

DOB: 3/27/2021 Meet Passionfruit (Passiflora felinus domesticus), age 4. A rare perennial nap enthusiast, this sweet, low-maintenance species was recently rescued from a shelter that had unfortunately run out of space for her continued cultivation. Much like the Passiflora edulis plant she’s named after, Passionfruit thrives in calm environments with gentle caretakers. She prefers cozy microclimates (sunbeams, fleece blankets, cardboard boxes) and enters dormancy for several hours a day—also known as “napping.” While she may not vine or flower, Passionfruit offers her own unique sweetness in the form of quiet companionship and soft purring pollination of the soul. Though shy at first, she warms up quickly with consistent light, affection, and snacks.
