Philadelphia animal control officers found him and his canine and feline siblings after the passing of their owner. The officers took them all to ACCT Philly to find a new beginning. Unfortunately, Barney found himself alone when other rescues took his housemates. At 11 years young, the world he knew had vanished, leaving him scared and confused.But Barney`s story didn`t end there! We welcomed this sweet senior into our care, and he`s been decompressing in a loving foster home. He’s slowly learning that he is safe and cherished once more. Barney`s heart is full of love to give. He has rediscovered his playful side, especially when it comes to his kitten foster brother, whom he affectionately nose-boops into playing a game.Barney does well with calmer dogs who share his more relaxed pace of life. He also seems to enjoy the company of gentle, respectful children. Barney is a well-mannered gentleman in the house – he`s housebroken and mostly crate-trained.What Barney truly longs for is to be by your side. Having likely shared a deep bond with his late owner, being alone can still bring him unease. His greatest wish is to find a forever home where he can be your constant, loving shadow. He`ll happily join you for slow, leisurely walks, his nose to the ground, taking in all the wonderful scents the world has to offer. And when playtime calls, a squeaky toy will bring out his inner puppy, especially if a gentle game of `catch` is involved.Could you be the one to offer this deserving senior the loving and peaceful final chapter he so deserves?
