My story

Attributes Dog friendly Needs another dog Housetrained Potties on leash Likes car rides Crate trained Not best for apartments This gorgeous young gal is Gale – also known as Gabby, as her foster mom has affectionately nicknamed her. She’s two years old and weighs about 25 pounds. Gale can be shy when meeting new people, but in the capable hands of her foster mom, she’s learning that humans are the source of lots of good things – treats, affection, car rides, food…the list goes on and on! Gale enjoys the company of other dogs, so she’d do best in a home with a canine sibling (or two) to show her the ropes, boost her confidence, and just hang out with. She’d also do well as an only dog with a family that would be willing to take her to training so she can brush up on her obedience skills and enjoy the company of fellow canines. Visits to doggy daycare are also an option – Gale enjoys making new friends whenever she gets the chance to go to doggy daycare! Cats are an unknown for Gale, so we’re not sure how she would react to having them as housemates. So, let’s talk about how Gale got the nickname Gabby! Well, she just loves to talk! She expresses her excitement when it’s time to eat and when it’s time to go for a walk (she walks very nicely on a leash, by the way). If she hears an unfamiliar sound, she’ll bark, and loud noises such as thunder frighten her. Because of her talkativeness, life in a condo or apartment isn’t for Gale. Ideally, Gale’s new home will have a fenced-in yard, but if that’s not an option, frequent walks will do just fine. Gale is housebroken with the use of a doggy door. She’s quiet in her crate, and will sleep in her crate or in a dog bed on the floor of foster mom’s bedroom. Gale’s foster mom says that she’s a very sweet-natured girl who is smart and willing to learn and will make a wonderful lifetime companion.
