Birdie

My story

My name is Birdie and I am looking for a forever home.   I was found roaming by myself by a nice lady who, after she couldn't find my owner and couldn't keep me, reached out to a small local rescue as she didn't want to take me to the pound.  A volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said yes!  I appear to be possibly a border collie/lab mix, and at a little over 22lbs at 2years old I am not expected to get any bigger.  I got my name from the lady who found me as she saw I was eating bird seed as I was so hungry.  I'm a little shy when first meeting new people but it doesn't take me long to learn that you're not going to hurt me and then I love getting attention (treats help).  I have gotten along with the other dogs I've met and enjoy playing; I've also not bothered those things called cats.  I've done pretty good in my crate without any accidents or messing up my bedding, but I prefer to be out with you and may let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you.  I probably have never had a leash in before coming into foster as I'm kind of scared of being on one (I am learning from my foster mom that maybe it's not a bad thing) but I think I'd like to have a fenced yard where i can run around playing and take care of my business.   If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application!
