My story

Meet Hailey, a fun-loving, happy-go–lucky, tail-wagging, lively, excitable girl picked up along with another family pet named Peyton as strays by one of our officers on 4/22 and brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. Haley is listed as a Retriever Lab/American pitbull mix. My dog scanner app suggests there may be Weimaraner in her breed mix. She weighs 55 pounds and is about two years old. She’s quite sociable, friendly and likes to receive attention. She does jump on you though not excessively. She was not interested in toys or balls. She did her business in the shelter yard. Hailey walks fine on a leash. She was reactive to other dogs when she walked past kennels of dogs that were barking at her. Therefore you would need to ask the shelter staff for a dog test. The two girls are kenneled together and get along just fine. They seem quite bonded. She has a moderate activity level. She’s got lots of personality and charm! I noted that she does whine a bit and I think she is trying to let us know that she wants her people to come for her and take her home. But she is also willing to settle in with another family that would give her an inside life so that she can bond with her people and enjoy being an integral part of their lives.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hailey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
