My story

Hi there, I’m Nala — a gentle, graceful girl with long legs, a soft heart, and a sweet soul that’s just beginning to bloom. I’m still getting used to this whole “happy dog life” thing, but I’m learning fast and starting to love it!When I’m feeling extra happy, I roll onto my back and kick my legs in the air like a goofball. I love cuddles, belly rubs, and giving kisses. I’ve started wrestling and napping with my foster sister, which is a big deal for me! I was nervous at first, but I’ve already learned that other dogs can be friends — it just takes me a little time.I’m crate trained and doing my best with potty training. I like chew toys and cozy naps, and I’ve recently discovered that running in the yard is fun. Walks are next on my list — I have the legs for adventure, I just need a little leash practice.I’m not used to sharing food or toys yet, so I prefer to eat by myself and have a safe space to retreat to when I’m feeling overwhelmed. I may growl if another dog gets too close during mealtime, but I’m very respectful with people and never mind if my foster mom needs to take something away from me.What I really want is a family who understands that I’m still figuring things out. With a little patience and a lot of love, I know I’ll grow into the confident, loving companion I’m meant to be. I don’t know yet how I feel about kids or cats, but I’m open to learning — just give me a gentle introduction. If you’ve got a soft spot for underdogs and a heart big enough to help mine heal, I promise to be the sweetest, most loyal friend you could ever ask for. Let’s grow together.Nala is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. If an animal is abandoned or needs to be re-homed, we can assist people by providing medical care, marketing and training if the individual fosters the animal. Please contact us at adoption@pawmettolifeline.org if you would like to meet a Home to Home Animal.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nala, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
