You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Flower, and I'm an incredibly sweet GSD mix who was found, along with my three puppies Fina, Faby and Fiona, along with some other dogs, sitting on a porch waiting for our owner to come back, only to find out, he abandoned us all. As you can tell by my splotchy skin and fly-bitten ears, I wasn't well cared for. Thankfully, some kind people stepped in to help us and took us to a veterinarian to be examined. Sadly, the vet discovered that I am heartworm positive and my skin is REALLY itchy and leathery, so treatment began immediately. A skin scraping was done and thankfully, the results were negative (no mange, and I have nothing contagious). Prior to transport, I spent some time in a foster home where I could receive regular care, including healthy meals so that I could nurse my puppies. They have since been weaned and we all were transported to CO on April 18th where we are now living in separate foster homes. I'm living in a home with two GSDs and a Boston Terrier and I'm having so much fun playing with my little foster brother, checking out new toys and taking naps on a soft dog bed. Because my skin has been so itchy, I've barbered my coat and skin a lot. I have some "hot spots" that will need time to heal while my coat grows back, but I was given a Cytopoint shot to help me with the itchiness. My foster mom and dad gave me a nice oatmeal bath, which felt like a spa treatment! My heartworm treatment will last approximately through the end of summer, and the rescue will pay for it, but I can be adopted anytime. I do need to learn how to walk nicely on leash, because this is new for me. In spite of everything I've been through, I have a positive outlook on life and I know now that I'm in a much better place with a very bright future ahead! If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process. April 25, 2025, 10:59 am
