My story

Let me introduce you to this youngster I have named Kelsey. She arrived as a stray at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/21. Kelsey weighs 36 pounds and is approx 8 months old. She is listed as a pit bull mix. However, my Dog Scanner app suggests a Dogo Argentino and American Bulldog mix. She is one spunky, tail- wagging, delightful girl. She sought out my attention and was very sociable, affectionate, and wanted to climb into my lap. She was completely thrilled to be outside and to feel the soft grass under her feet, away from the confinement of her kennel and all the dogs barking. Kelsey will sit for treats and takes them nicely. She walks well on a leash. She was not interested in toys or balls and I’m guessing she has never had them offered to her to play with. This girl would dearly love to end up in a home in which she would be given daily exercise, enrichment, and playtime. And the thought of lying in a soft cushy, doggy bed or snuggled up to a person who would love her—that’s what dreams are made of! She already knows the sit command and is smart and motivated enough to learn additional commands. Can you find it in your heart to make her dreams come true?
