My story

From the foster parent: Chips is a sweet and gentle dog who has been an absolute joy to foster. He’s incredibly loving and loyal—his favorite things in the world are being close to his person, getting pets, and enjoying tasty treats. Indoors, he’s calm and content just being near you, making him a wonderful companion for a peaceful home environment.Chips is also a smart boy who knows commands like *sit, lay down,* and *stay*. He thrives with structure and would do especially well with someone who enjoys training and bonding through teaching. While he can be a bit reactive on walks and occasionally pulls on the leash, he is very trainable and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and consistency. He can be a little territorial once he settles into a space and may be nervous around new people at first. However, he does best when meeting new people outside of the home with a calm and proper introduction—once he feels safe, he warms up beautifully and becomes very affectionate. He rarely barks or growls, and even in uncertain situations, he’s not aggressive. He responds well to redirection and listens attentively when called.Chips would do best with someone patient, loving, and willing to guide him with gentle leadership. He is a truly special dog with so much love to give, and he deserves a forever home where he can feel safe and loved.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt *CHIPS, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
