My story

This sweet chonky gal is full of wiggles, waggles and full face kisses. She is active and athletic, she is a thick girl but she is fast! She loves to run the whole yard then take a break in the house then she’s off again. She loves to sunbathe and will snooze in the sun. Toys- squeakers, balls, hard toys she loves them all! She takes them all into her crate and sleeps with them. She has no idea of personal space, your space is her space, she will lean in for a full body hug then take off playing then come back for more snuggles. There is no more privacy, no showers without a dog waiting for you, she is a stage 5 Velcro dog. She gets so excited when you get home from work she jumps in the air wiggles then runs to you for a full body hug. She is great with other dogs of all sizes.. She’s been great with my nieces and nephews (7-14), she may be to much for a small child as she doesn’t know her size. She sleeps in a crate at night, we are working on leash skills (not a fan) does better on a harness. When she wants attention she arooosss and will talk. Her tail never stops wagging, she’s a very happy girl. Treats- she loves them all! With food she will push smaller Foster’s out of the way to get food. Loves my husband (he’s a big guy) when she sees him she jumps on him and tries to crawl into your skin. She jumps up which we are working on breaking her of, she’s just so happy to be near her people she wants to be a part of everything. Water! She loves water, mud oh boy it’s her favorite, she will find a puddle hop in it and play in the mud all the while smiling and running over to give you a hug then back to the water Chonk had a terrible case of demodectic mange when he/she came into our rescue. He/she has been treated, but his/her hair is still slowly growing back and that's why in the pictures it might appear that he/she looks like they have been nibbled on by a moth. Demodectic mange, frequently referred to as Demodex or "red mange", is the most common form of mange in dogs. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies with immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to multiply rapidly. It's not contagious to other dogs or humans, and it is easily treatable but can be a lengthy process. There are several different medications (oral and topical) that are used to treat Demodex. Medicated baths are helpful and soothing to help the puppy feel less irritated. However, the very best treatment above everything else is low stress and lots of TLC. We also suggest food that is for skin conditions. This sweet puppy is ready for a home of her very own but please be sure and do your own research about Demodex to make sure you're comfortable with it. We've treated probably thousands of puppies and adults with Demodex and in the most severe cases, the hair might grow back splotchy in places, but the recovery is full and when treated properly, Demodex leaves no long-term health issues. This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested ****** for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.
