My story

Meet Oakley – A Sweet Senior Maltese Looking for His Forever Lap Quick Facts: - Name: Oakley - Breed: Maltese - Age: 12 years - Weight: 7 lbs - House-Trained: Yes, with routine (also does well in diapers) - Crate-Trained: He cannot be left in a crate, needs to be able to roam free when you're not home - Good with Dogs: Yes, prefers dogs with a similar calm energy - Good with Kids: Best in an adult-only or calm home - Special Needs: Mostly blind (cataracts) - Fence Suggested: Recommended for safe outdoor exploration, depending on your home setup and lifestyle.  Oakley at a Glance: - Sweet, calm, and always content - Loves to lounge in laps and soak up affection with his dog friends - Enjoys walks in a stroller and exploring his fenced yard - Great house manners and easy-going personality - Best in a home with someone who’s home often (works from home or is retired) - Does well with other calm, respectful dogs - Happy to relax and nap close to his humans and dog friends About Oakley’s Breed: Oakley is a Maltese, a breed cherished for its affectionate nature, charm, and companionship. Maltese dogs are known for forming strong bonds with their humans, and they make excellent lap dogs and cuddle buddies. While small in size, their hearts are big and full of love, making them wonderful companions, especially for retirees or calm households. Oakley’s Story & Personality: Oakley is a 12-year-old Maltese who’s ready to find a cozy, loving home where he can be your loyal little shadow. Despite being mostly blind due to cataracts, Oakley navigates his foster home with confidence and loves to spend his days napping, exploring the yard, and cuddling with his humans. He’s house-trained when kept on a routine and does well in diapers as a backup. Because of his limited vision, he cannot be left in a crate or puppy pen, but he’s such a polite little guy that you won’t need to worry. Oakley loves to go outside in his fenced yard to enjoy some safe exploration and sniff around at his own pace. This sweet boy thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. He has excellent house manners and gets along well with other calm dogs who match his laid-back energy. Oakley’s ideal home is with a retired person, couple, or calm household ready to give him all the love and security he deserves. Oakley’s Ideal Home: - A calm, loving home with someone home most of the day (retired or works from home) - A fenced yard for safe exploration, but not required - A household without crates or pens due to his vision limitations - Adult-only or quiet household with no young children - Other calm dogs are fine companions Ready to Give Oakley the Golden Years He Deserves? Oakley is ready to be your little shadow and cuddle buddy. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate senior who will brighten your days with love, Oakley is waiting to meet you.
