My story

A volunteer writes:I met Beauty two weeks ago. She arrived with a mob of cats to the care center. She was not well and suffered from pyometra, treated and cured by our veterinary team. Nevertheless, the stress of a medical condition added to her losses(her home, her owner and her housemates) translated into Beauty appearing as a super shy kitty! Until yesterday, I was never able to take a good picture of her. She was plastered to the back of her cubby, shrunk into an impossible to photograph subject. I was finally able to take a picture of her, just one as she is still recovering and trying to be brave. She stayed in place, slightly inkling her head against my hand, quiet... I could appreciate her beauty, feel her feathery coat and finally see her opened eyes. I know that Beauty "can do it". I know she can open up with time and in the right hands. She just needs time after her ordeal, something that we too often underestimate. Beauty is a "good one" and she needs to be given a chance at being happy in a home sweet home!Beauty was lying quietly at the back of her kennel, appearing gentle and calm as she made eye contact with the assessor. Though slightly hunched with mildly tense musculature, she remained composed and accepted all petting without any visible reaction. While she may need a bit of time to fully warm up in a new environment, her quiet demeanor suggests she has the potential to blossom in a patient, loving home.Beauty interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior. Primary Color: Gray Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.2 Age: 6yrs 1mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Beauty, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
