My story

Meet Tinkerbell !! This sweet little lady is the greatest thing ever. Despite being a bit older she is still fun and spunky at times but also cuddly and very well behaved. The joys of a mature dog are how easy they can be to have around. Tinkerbell is an approx 10 year old female Pomeranian mix. She currently weights 17 pounds and is full grown. She has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on her vaccines. She is heartworm negative. It’s easy to fall in love with this one. She is super friendly and has a fun side to her still. She loves to cuddle and relax but will also get the zoomies around the yard and still loves playing with squeaky toys. She has some issues with her vision but doesn’t let that stop her at all. She will just zoom around until she crashes into you for cuddle time. Tinkerbell has been great with all other dogs. She loves both big and small dogs. She even quickly won over a dog in her foster home that usually cant have any doggie friends. Something about her put him at ease and they quickly became besties, he even shares his toys with her which is something he will not do with any other dog. Tinkerbell of course loves the attention and having another dog to follow around due to her vision limitations. We aren't sure how she would do with cats but likely fine. She wasn’t raised in a home with kids but we think she would do well with respectful children. Kids should be old enough to understand not to treat her like a toy. Tinkerbell is great with all her home manners. She is potty trained and will let you know when it’s time to go outside. She is perfect in her crate. She does well on the leash despite the vision issues. She rides great in the car and was very good at the vet. She really is well behaved and easy to have around. She has had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. She has a fairly low energy level. She is mostly happy just to sit around with you. She does have little bursts of excited energy where she wants to play or run around. After that she is back to cuddling again. Tinkerbell came to us with some skin issues and an ear infection. She was eating a very low quality brand of food and we think that may be the cause of both. We have treated her ear infection and her skin and given her a better quality of food. She still has missing hair but we are hoping it will regrow now that she is getting healthy again. She also had her collar embedded into her neck. When removed it left an irritated area that is also healing. Her vision is low and she will follow the sound of your voice, or follow another dog around. She compensates for her vision loss very well and does not need a lot of additional care for it. As with any older dog she has some dental issues. We know many think that they wont get as much time with their new dog if they adopt a senior vs a puppy. While the length of ownership may be shorter we can tell you that it is hard to match the love of a senior dog. They need you as much as you need them. You can skip the hyper days and the training and go right to a well behaved couch cuddling buddy. Please take a chance on an older girl. You wont regret it! Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message the VillageDogResource@gmail.com com or for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application. ‼️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tinkerbell, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
