My story

Rigatoni is serving lots of love! Ciao, I’m Rigatoni! I may be small in size (just 8 pounds of perfectly al dente Chi mix), but I’m full of flavor—think spicy, silly, and a little saucy on the edges. At 2 years old, I’m still cooking up some courage, but I’ve come a long way from my feral beginnings in a hoarding house. Back then, I couldn’t be leashed and wouldn’t eat if you watched me. Grazie, but no grazie. These days? I’m a new noodle! I’ve mastered housebreaking (minus a crate—those still scare me), I go on walks (sometimes even off-leash!), and I’ve got this adorable trick called “Boop Boop” where I gently tap your finger with my nose for a treat. If I get spooked, just say “Boop Boop” and I’ll reset like the happy little girlie that I am. Here’s the thing—I do not like to be touched. Yet. I’m working on it! I do let my trusted humans sneak in a gentle pet when they’re taking my leash off. Big win, right? Just no surprises, please! I adore other dogs—like, obsessed. I’m basically the four-legged welcome committee at my foster home, and I’ve helped new pups learn the ropes. I thrive in a pack and would love as many dog siblings as you’ve got. Humans are cool too, as long as they respect my space. I’ll follow you from room to room, nap beside you on the couch or bed, and keep you company like a soft, wiggly shadow. Some of my favorite things: fetch, sunbathing, nature walks, squeaky toys, and chewing bones like I’ve got a vendetta. I don’t need attention 24/7, and I have zero separation anxiety, so feel free to go about your life—I’ll be just fine holding down the fort with my dog crew. Kids? Not my thing. I’m scared they might try to pet me. But if your home is calm, dog-filled, and touch-optional, I’ll be your most loyal, hilarious, chew-bone-loving roomie. So, if you’re looking for a dog who won’t hog the spotlight (or your hands), but will absolutely fill your home with laughter, love, and just the right amount of Italian chaos… Rigatoni is ready to serve. Follow my foster adventures on Instagram @familydogconsulting. Mangia! My adoption fee is $200 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. ##1960163##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rigatoni, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
