Hello, my name is: GroverDOB: 4/19/2020Sex/Breed: Neutered male Chihuahua mixWeight: 22 lbsRescued From: Owner surrenderOur hearts broke hearing Grover`s story. This sweet five-year-old chihuahua mix lost his human mom and the remaining family member was going to abandon him or worse. Thankfully, he found his way to us after being completely shut down and scared in the shelter.Foster care has been a game-changer for Grover. He was initially very fearful and withdrawn. The love and patience of his foster mom pushed through that scared shell and coaxed him into a much more confident boy. Seeing him learn to trust has been truly heartwarming.Grover is still sensitive to loud noises and can be nervous in busy areas, so a quieter home would be his ideal sanctuary. He`d do best with older, understanding kids who can respect his shyness.We`re also so proud of Grover`s progress on his weight loss journey! He`s down to 22 pounds and feeling much better, though he`s still got a little more to go. He enjoys his gentle exercise and is doing great on his diet.Grover is crate trained, house trained, and does well in the car. He gets along well with other dogs who are tolerant of a little bit of rude doggy behavior (he`s still learning his manners!).Could you be the loving forever home Grover deserves after everything he`s been through?
