If you qualify and are interested in participating in this program, please fill out an application online and type "SENIOR" after your name.  ** Gadzooks has been diagnosed with moderate cataracts of both eyes. A cataract is an increase in the opacity of the eye's lens. When a dog develops a cataract, the normally clear lens develops a cloudy or opaque appearance that interferes with the light reaching the retina. Depending on the severity, this interference can significantly impact the dog’s vision In dogs with moderate cataracts, vision impairment is noticeable, and the lens opacity covers about 60% of the total lens area, but the dog may still be able to see some shadows.   Gadzooks is ready to live out his golden years with you !   Foster Home Feedback    ** No housing with shared walls (apartments, townhouses, twin homes, condos) Foster Feedback 5/28/25: Gadzooks  has come a long way in the last few months! His potty training is going really well and he is down to having just a few accidents each week. He does a great job going potty outside every time we go out. With a consistent schedule and excitement when he goes outside, he does awesome!  Gadzooks has  also made huge games in his willingness to be kenneled. He goes into his kennel right away for just a little treat and only barks for 5-10 minutes in his kennel before settling down and going to sleep. So proud of all the gains he’s made!  I can’t believe he hasn’t been snatched up by somebody looking for a cute and friendly lap warmer. All he wants to do is lay by my feet or lay by me on the couch and snooze. He does great on walks and is awesome in the community meeting people. Good with dogs, cats, & kids so somebody snatch this guy up and give him the senior life that he deserves! Foster Feedback 4/15/25:Gadzooks (AKA Zookie) is the sweetest old man around!  He’s been with me for a few weeks and has such a gentle and loving personality. Gadzooks is mostly blind, so it took him a bit to get used to the steps but now he is a pro at all the stairs in the house! He also learned my voice and follows me pretty closely around the house. Definitely a little velcro dog!  Zookie seems to have had no training before coming into rescue and is still working on potty and crate training. He is getting better with both, but definitely does not love being in a crate. He will bark for 20-30 minutes when first put in the kennel, but then quiets down and sleeps all day. He is kenneled at night and sleeps quietly after settling.  Zookie is good with dogs, cats, kids and adults. He’s looking for a relaxing retirement home & a comfy lap to snuggle on.  &#226&#128&#139 To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org June 3, 2025, 12:03 am
