My story

*** Furina is in our PetSmart Encinitas adoption center ***Furina #18960: gray/peach/white calico, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/7/23 Cats: must have mellow interactive friendDogs: noChildren: savvy tweens+ BACKGROUND: Furina was rescued from a bad hoarding situation where several cats had already died of starvation by the time she was found. She was sick and malnourished, though with TLC and nutritional support in foster care she got healthy and regained needed weight. Now Furina just needs one more thing: a loving forever home!PERSONALITY: Furina is a playful little girl who is happiest when she is interacting with her feline friends, especially younger mellow ones who will cheerfully include her in their games. It’s adorable to watch. She likes kicker toys and crinkle balls, and if you bring out a ribbon wand she finds it delightful. Furina needs a very special human who will understand that she isn’t a confident kitty. She is very sweet and when you approach her slowly and let her see and smell your hand first she lets you pet her on the top of her head and down her spine; she’ll arch her back and do a bit of an elevator butt. She is responsive to a quiet and gentle interaction, though she asks that you avoid her legs and largely let her keep her paws under her own control. Furina needs an adopter who won’t put expectations on her and will allow her to have her own comfort zone while still giving encouragement. Within that zone, she is a darling who is so enjoyable to have around! COMPATIBILITY: Furina thrives and does well when she is following the cues of a confident, friendly, and playful younger kitty. She must have a welcoming cat companion who isn’t dominant or aggressive. She does not want to live with dogs. Younger or very active children would not be a good fit as loud or unexpected sounds and movements scare her and Furina needs a calm environment; patient cat-savvy tweens and up could work well.Furina is hoping to find an understanding soul who will give her unconditional love and let her interact at her own pace without pressure.
