My story

Introducing Winter! The winter blues are moving out, but our sweet Winter is looking for her forever family! The Winter Litter pups are pitbull mixes who were born December 27, 2024. As she has grown, we have discovered that Winter is deaf, but this doesn’t hold her back or stop her in any way - she is full of spunk, a zest for life, and all the love you could ever want. Winty Girl, as her foster calls her, is a well-balanced blend of energetic and snuggly. She is always up for new adventures, but loves to snuggle too! She enjoys chewing on sticks and toys, observing the world around her, and playing with her foster siblings. After a busy day, she is eager to curl up in your lap and snooze - she even snores like a walrus! She is a smart girl who is eager to learn new things and is often found observing her foster siblings to mimic their behaviors. She is learning commands through hand signals and signs. She already knows “sit” and is working on “come” as well as other basic commands. She is making great progress on potty training and leash training - no accidents through the night in her crate but needs reminders during the daytime. Winter is dog and kid friendly, and will likely do well with cats with proper introduction. Winter’s ideal home is one with another dog who can guide and teach her the ropes as she continues to grow. She also needs someone who is either experienced with deaf dogs or is willing to learn and be patient with her. She is very capable and will lead a normal life, but the way she learns is a bit different. She would love a house that is both active and laidback! Applicants MUST have an adult dog in the home! Your adult dog will accompany you during the meet and greet, and will help select the best match based on the winter-actions we observe. who gravitates toward you and your dog. Adoption fee is $325 and covers spay/neuter when age appropriate at our vet, vaccines to date of adoption, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health.
