My story

Are you ready to meet the most goofy booty scratch loving girl in the whole wide world? Well luckily we have sweet Sadie here, waiting for you. She is so funny, you can’t help but crack a smile when you meet her and see the heart shape hidden in her fur. When we discovered her love for booty scratching and being your personal bongo, that’s when we really fell in love. The way she dances and looks back at you when you are petting her really just takes the cake. We have never seen anything like it! She turns into a little grass hopper moving her legs! As if she couldn’t get any more perfect, she loves dogs, people, and has lived with a feline friend in the past. So, have you fallen in love yet? Sadie’s favorite activity is hanging out in the backyard looking for lizards and playing with her foster siblings. We believe a home with a backyard would be best for Sadie, because she is amazing at entertaining herself with toys, sunbathing, and her curiosity for reptile friends. Sadie could be in a home with other doggy friends, even those who are a little shy. Her foster mom is also fostering another friend, who happens to be a little skiddish. Sadie has helped this pup really open up and learn his way in the world. She really is a hero! Her other foster sibling is an older dog, almost 15 years old. Sadie respects her older friends space, and is able to recognize that he is too old for rowdy play! She is so smart and continues to impress us every day. Sadie is currently working on her leash skills and crate training. She does well in the crate, even if it takes her a little to settle. She is respectful of her foster home, and it is because of her fosters trust that she is able to free roam. She is fully potty trained as well. She allows her handler to take food, treats, and toys away, as well as being handled for veterinary purposes! She enjoys going for walks, playing tug-of-war, and playing with her toys. Sadie also loves her quiet relaxing time as well. She has been to numerous adoption events and loves meeting kiddos! Although she has not been officially kid tested before, her foster says she is wonderful with kids. We would be happy to kid test, baby test, or run any test you may need as a potential adopter. The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
