My story

#A5689395 Meet Teddy , a 5-year-old German Shepherd/Akita mix with a stunning toasted golden coat, like luscious buttery caramel, and the sweetest chocolate-dipped ears and snoot. This beautiful girl has clearly been through a lot - her fly-stricken ears and mama’s body tell a story of a tough past, likely spent outside and raising litter after litter. But now it’s her turn to be babied, cherished, and showered with the love she’s always deserved Though she’s currently scared and on guard at the shelter, Teddy is a gentle, loving soul who just needs a calm, patient home where she can decompress and feel safe at her own pace. She’d do best in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy kids, and would likely be comfortable with other calm pets, especially mellow doggo friends. If you’re ready to offer Teddy a soft landing and the fresh start she needs, she’s so ready to bloom! 5 year old gold German Shepherd/Akita mix  59 pound spayed female May need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this! Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/1/25 as a stray beautiful toasted golden coat, like luscious buttery caramel, accented with chocolate dipped ears and snoot has not had an easy life - fly stricken ears suggest she was kept outside too much, and she's clearly been a mama to multiple litters this sweet, loving, and so deserving little girl is ready to be babied for the first time!  feeling very scared, overwhelmed, and on guard at the shelter, understandably so - needs a calm and patient home willing to go slow and give her time to relax and feel safe at her own pace, as well as all the pampering she deserves likely not good with small children who will surprise or startle her, but other pets should be fine - especially other calm dogs     TEDDY’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/gDy For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ jsumphotography    Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER.
