My story

Meet Need/ Wilson! This 4-month-old, 29-pound Red Heeler mix is an affectionate, social butterfly with the heart of a Lab and the smarts of a working dog. Don’t be fooled by his cattle dog looks—Wilson is all love, no herding. He’s friendly, goofy, and thriving in his foster home. Wilson is an energetic, playful pup who loves playing with other dogs, chasing squeaky toys, and exploring the world around him. He’s already picking up on important commands like sit, stay, out, and gentle, and he’s learning come too. He responds to the names Wilson and Willy and is eager to please—especially if treats are involved! - Rides well in the car - Not a resource guarder - Great with dogs and kids Wilson is 90% housebroken, sleeps like a champ, and is mastering his leash manners. He gets excited on walks and has great impulse control—he’ll even sit at corners! He naps like a pro after playtime and adores being part of the action. He’s also a cuddler who enjoys belly rubs and sticking close to his people. That said, Wilson is still a puppy—and with that comes teething, the occasional bark, and a love for shoes if you’re not watching closely. He’s super scent-focused outdoors and will follow a trail nose-first with total determination. Willy has shown a bit too much interest in the kitty in the home, so we think a cat free home would be best. Wilson is the whole package: sweet, smart, snuggly, and sociable. With consistency and continued training, he’s going to make the most incredible companion for a lucky family.
