My story

Rosemary (whose friends call her Melly) has been to formal training at Pawlished and comes with support from them for life (reactive group classes, pack walks, email support). We been working hard in her foster home to help her learn strangers are not dangerous and that she can play with other dogs nicely. Adoption events are hard for her as they are filled with strangers and dogs which both scare her (until they aren't strangers anymore - she loves her people with her whole heart!). Rosemary needs her forever home to understand: * she is a BIG puppy at 65-70 pounds who is sometimes too playful to remember her manners so she jumps up on people * she needs a single family home with a fenced in yard to ensure strangers or unknown dogs/cats do not enter her space without her parent's permission * she barks loudly when she is scared to try to scare the things that are scaring her and force them to give her space. She can also bark for attention if she has not gotten enough exercise * she needs patient adopters willing to do slow introductions to other dogs (she should be allowed to decompress at least a week before meeting) * she needs her dog friends to be tolerant of rough play after they do meet * she is warming up to cats, but wants to treat them like puppies and play rough now that she knows they won't hurt herApril 16, 2025, 8:46 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rosemary, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
