My story

Hi! Hi! Did you we just become best friends?! I think we just became best friends! My name is Simon and I haven't met a person or a dog I didn't like, so I know you will be no different. I haven't had an easy start to my life, but you would never know that by meeting me. Despite a rocky beginning, I'm eager to meet every human (and dog) that walks by. I came to Peak Lab Rescue from a partner shelter where I was adopted, then picked up as a stray not too long after. Nobody can understand why I was overlooked at the shelter because I'm such a good boy! I am already house trained and crate trained. I settle into my crate without a peep and sleep through the whole night. I love kids too! I'm just around 2 years old and I weigh about 30 lbs. My buddies at Peak Lab Rescue affectionately refer to me as a pocket lab because of my smaller size. I came to PLR super skinny, so I could use your help putting on a few more lbs. Shouldn't be hard since I love wet food, cheese, and dog treats-the meatier and smellier the better! I am definitely an explorer. I would stay outside all day if you let me. My foster mom has to keep a close eye on me in the backyard because I want to find out just how far I can go. I also LOVE going for walks. It's so fun to sniff all the smells and meet new friends. I'm still learning to walk with a loose leash, but I know I will pick it up quickly. When I do, I will be a great companion for longer walks or hikes. I already know the commands "sit" and "paw." I'm learning "off," "place," and "spin." Because I was in the shelter, I'm still figuring out the rules of living in a home. I'm not allowed on the furniture here, so I'm learning to lay on my own bed or hop up on a dog cot instead. There are so many new things to explore that sometimes I have a hard time settling outside my crate. It's easy to settle inside my crate though. I'm so quiet you won't even know I'm there! Can you help provide me with the structure and consistency that will help me live my best life? I've already been checked out by a vet and am up to date on my vaccines.
