I don't know about you, but I love me a goofy, sweet, squishy meaty boy with a big ole blocky head. If you're a person like me and you love the beef cakes, then you're search for the one has been found! Bud Bustin will check off all of your boxes. He is silly, gets along great with other dogs, likes to play with toys, is gentle even with his big boy size, smart, and knows how to sit back relax and enjoy down time. Bud is what I like to call the best of both worlds, he likes to play but also likes to relax. Watch his video and fall in love with this meatball: https://youtu.be/5gjgt29iVac?si=FGhKk6LywO2VLZtR Bud Bustin is a pittie mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 56 lbs. We do think he may have some more growing to do so he may get bigger, which just means more Bud Bustin to love on. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Bud is very dog friendly and did great with all the dogs we introduced him too. Bud loves to play, has the best time romping around the yard with all his friends running as fast as he can (even though he's not that fast LOL), and living his best life. You can say he's the life of the party and only in the best ways. He has a playful "rough and tumble" play style with his doggy friends that matches that big personality he has. He is definitely a character when he is playing and there will be no shortages of laughter with this guy and his goofy playful antics. If you have a dog whose play-style could be described as rough and rowdy, Bud would love to be their new bestie. Bud isn't all play all the time either, he knows when it's time to take a play break and also appreciates hanging out in the yard with his doggy friends enjoying the fresh air. He is also respectful if other dogs don't want to play and takes corrections very well from other dogs. He has no issues sharing treats around other dogs, affection, or even toys! Which just goes to show what a happy go lucky guy he is. In a home, we would love to see him with a medium energy playful dog that likes to run around, have a good time, enjoys those rowdy play sessions and also is happy to hangout and enjoy each other's company. If you don't have another dog, that's okay too! Bud is not the type that needs another dog in the home to help him feel comfortable or open up, he is a happy and confident boy all on his own and will be just fine being your one and only. Bud would also do best in a kitty free home. Bud Bustin is very smart and is treat motivated! If your hands have touched something yummy and if you have some crumbs on your fingers or need some assistance cleaning them up, he will gladly help you out LOL. He already knows how to sit and has shown us that he is familiar with a "heel and sit" maneuver. He is fairly easy to walk on a leash and responds well to correction. When learning a new trick or when giving him a command, he may need a reminder or two about what you are asking him to do but a gentle nudge or treat will do the trick and he'll be all ears (literally). He is also crate trained, potty trained and has great house manners. Bud would be the best companion to take with you on adventures and at the end of the day settle in for much needed snuggles and down time. Like stated previously, he is the best of both worlds. He has an active side that enjoys playing with toys, going on car rides, is describes as a social butterfly by his fosters and also enjoys pretending to be a lap dog and is a big fan of the couch. Bud would thrive with a semi active family that is wanting to take their dog on walks through out the neighborhood, play fetch in the backyard, go hit the trails and then wrap up their day with down time at home with their new bestie, Bud. We also believe that he would do best in a home with a backyard where he can stretch his legs, get the occasional zoomies, wrestle with his new doggy sibling, and soak in the sun. When it comes to kids, we have have not seen him with kids just yet and we can absolutely test him with that. Based off of what we already know and from what we have seen, we do believe that he could make a great family dog. He is not needy with his affection or need it all the time, he is not known for being jumpy or pushy, and is very gentle when taking treats and playing with toys. He may knock the super tiny humans over with his wiggly big boy body on accident so we suggest ages 5 and up for this guy. But Bud's gentleness is actually something that is said often about him, especially when he is playing with toys. When playing tug of war, he is so gentle about it all. He gently tugs, gently re-grips or make contact with the toy, isn't jumping after toys, and is gentle with releasing the toy. Just watch his video and you'll see exactly what we are talking about. He is also great at self entertainment and isn't picky about toys. He loves stuffies all the way to balls! We are willing to test Bud Bustin with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
